What no one expected, but was honored to witness. Miles Partain, named AVP Rookie of the Year in 2019 by VolleyballMag.com, came to sweep the tournament with partner Kate Bierly. It was truly something else at our largest turnout ever, TOGS players, family, and friends watched some teams fight tooth and nail to win matches, while this team flew by each team and made it to the finals without even sweating (weird huh?). We're proud of team Kate & Friend, but forever suspicious when you don't have a creative team name.
2019
A big year for most, an even bigger year for few.Â
Just days before, our beloved Rachel and Marc were wed in San Clemente. With the excitement of marriage and new beginnings, game play this day was some of it's finest. With many teams donned in their respective costumes, this warm summer day was filled with rivalries, high fives, as well as wins and losses. In the final game we witnessed two teams go head to head in their long lasting feud fueled by brotherhood and the need to win. But only one team won. The Empire still stands.
