Is winter TOGS really a TOGS?

What do Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, and Kelly Slater have in common?

They are Champions... and not just champions, but they are some of the greatest of all time because they have multiple championship titles under their belt. They are the ELITE of their sports.

TOGS has an elite class of its own. Only a select few teams have claimed the title of champion, and an even smaller few have been able to claim more than one. Two teams currently sit with three championships Titles to their name: Death Squad & The Empire (formerly known as Full Throttle) (formerly formerly known as Who’s Next)

You may be thinking “This seems like more of a rivalry than a controversy?” Well that would be true, except for one pivotal detail.

Two of the Three championship titles earned by Death Squad were during the winter edition of TOGS (and one of the three championships held by The Empire). Winter TOGS has been criticized by some as “not a real TOGS”. Critics of Winter TOGS refuse to acknowledge Death Squad's hard fought victories, some even refuse to consider them the “Current TOGS champs”, even though they won the most recent tournament. These people claim that winter TOGS isn’t legit, but do the facts point to this being true?

In opposition to this claim, may I present 3 facts that I believe prove Winter TOGS to be a real TOGS.

Point 1: The word TOGS is in the Title.

Point 2: The official TOGS Instagram promoted “Winter Togs” as an official event.

Point 3: The five pillars competed in the winter TOGS, all acknowledging at the time of the event that it was in fact “legit”. Only after losing did two of the pillars decide that Winter TOGS was in their opinion not a real tournament.

So there you have it, is Winter TOGS really a TOGS? In my opinion, Yes.

Are those who question the legitimacy of Winter TOGS just being sore losers? In my opinion, Yes.

Has Death Squad earned the right to be considered one of the greatest TOGS teams of all time? In my opinion, yes.
